R1R! Inspired by MotoGP experience, this dynamic design, engineered and developed in Italy with the most advanced digital tools, has undergone rigorous testing by KYT riders to ensure top-of-the-line performance. It boasts improved aerodynamics thanks to over three years of wind tunnel testing and extensive road and track testing to optimize fluid dynamics in various riding positions—straight, braking, and cornering—for maximum rider comfort.
Vertical and peripheral fields of vision of 90 and 210 degrees, respectively, “Hydrocool textile” fabrics, a visor mechanism with a rototranslation system and a “Racing Lock System” visor locking mechanism in metal alloy, the most stringent used by MotoGP riders. The R1R is the ideal helmet for the road and the track.
SHELL
The shell is made of TRICOCOMPOSITE fiber, a new composite that allows for a lighter yet more protective shell.
The new composite is a blend of carbon fiber, aramid fibers, and fiberglass with different weight/breaking strengths that ensure a lightweight and significantly more impact-resistant shell.
The R1R is produced in three different shell sizes: S, M, and L.
LINER
The liner is available in three sizes (S, M, and L) for improved ergonomics and is designed with variable densities. This feature allows for gradual and progressive absorption of impact energy.
Although most of the impact energy is absorbed by the outer shell, thanks to its deformation, the polystyrene plays a key role in absorbing residual energy.
Varying the polystyrene density in different impact zones optimizes the mechanical performance of the shell, ensuring the highest level of safety.
VISOR
The scratch-resistant, variable-thickness, injected polycarbonate visor, rated optical class 1, is easy to remove thanks to a tool-free system. The rotational-translation mechanism provides greater strength when closing. The visor is also equipped with a metal alloy “Racing Lock System.”
This mechanism reduces the risk of detachment in the event of an accident. The R1R is designed for tear-off lenses.
PINLOCK
R1R is equipped with PINLOCK® MAX VISION 70
VENTILATION
Ventilation is provided by an efficient system consisting of a chin guard air intake, a large front air intake, and two side vents that work together to achieve maximum comfort.
The system works in conjunction with a network of integrated channels that ensure excellent airflow inside the helmet. The aerodynamic spoiler also acts as air extraction thanks to the Venturi effect provided by the rear extractors located beneath it.
INNERS
The cheek pads and liner can be removed, washed, and replaced.
They are made of premium “Hydrocool Textile” fabric with specific fibers that offer the following characteristics:
1. They allow for rapid dissipation of body heat
2. They keep the skin cool and dry
3. They feature a special hygienic treatment
The cheek pads are easily removable in an emergency thanks to the quick-release system.
RETENTION SYSTEM
The chinstrap features a stainless steel double D ring retention system.
